– 4th annual new country mini collection helps city schools with largest delivery to date-

(HARTFORD, CT)- August 29, 2017 Hundreds of Hartford Public School students are starting the year off right with brand new backpacks filled with donations from New Country Motor Cars 4th Annual “Stuff the MINI to the Max” campaign. Five MINI Cooper cars jammed with school supplies rolled into the Family Services of Hartford Public Schools Welcome Center on August 28th, where they were greeted by crowds of children, parents and Hartford officials.

Mayor of Hartford Luke Bronin, Superintendent of Hartford Public Schools, Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, and other Hartford school representatives were on hand to help distribute the supplies and to show their appreciation to Tim Parker, Vice President of New Country Motor Cars of Hartford, and the entire staff of New Country MINI.

“Thanks to Greg Shimer, District Manager of Staples, and our media sponsor Channel 3, we delivered the largest amount of supplies we have ever collected!” exclaimed Sam Herman, Sales Manager of New Country MINI Cooper of Hartford. “We are indebted to them and the members of our community who generously donated to help these students.”

Donations were accepted at the New Country dealership in Hartford and at Staples stores in Glastonbury, West Hartford, Newington and Vernon during the month of August. The dealership also held special vehicle sales events on August 19th and August 26th, complete with food and refreshments, as an incentive to drop off a donation. Additionally, Channel 3 hosted a supply drive at the station in Rocky Hill on August 17th.

New Country MINI created the program four years ago to ensure Hartford teachers and students are prepared for class and to ease the financial burden on city parents. Approximately 21,000 students were enrolled in Hartford Public Schools in 2013-14, of whom 84.6% were low-income.

“We are so grateful to our friends at New Country for holding this collection for us once again,” said Marta Bentham, Director of Family Services & Ombudsman of Hartford Public Schools’ Welcome Center.  “Their caring, personal support has been invaluable to our families over the years.”

-3rd Annual Magnificent Mom Makeover Promotion Provides Head to Toe Pampering-

(HARTFORD, CT)– May 18, 2017– To young mother Joanne Shustock of Windsor, working two jobs and starting her own cleaning company was simply what she needed to do to take care of her four children. Now that all of the children are grown and out on their own, her daughter Tabitha wants her to focus on herself for a change. Her nomination for New Country Motor Cars of Hartford’s 3rd Annual Magnificent Mom Makeover promotion in honor of Mother’s Day was the hands down winner according to the panel of judges.

“Every mother works hard every day, but Joanne’s story really wowed us,” said Tim Parker, Vice President of New Country Motor Cars of Hartford.  “We are thrilled to help her start the next chapter of her life.”

Tabitha’s nomination:

My mother absolutely deserves a special Mother’s Day makeover. This woman spent all of her 20’s and 30’s raising myself and my 3 siblings, all while taking in two children whose mother had a problem with drugs & alcohol. She worked nights as a package handler at UPS, loading trucks with 50 lb. boxes until the early morning, returned home to pack us up for school and send us off on three different buses, and then went to her day job at the Journal Inquirer. She was a complete powerhouse, with all of the energy in the world, and even managed to start her own cleaning business on the weekends. I literally don’t know how she did it. Now that we are all grown up and moved out, my Mother is definitely experiencing “Empty Nest Syndrome.” She is now a successful business owner of her own housekeeping company & takes extra personal care of her elderly clients, even driving them to the casino on weekends! With everything she does have going on I think she finally deserves the chance to have the social life she missed out on…Now is her chance to add a touch of spice into her life. She recently lost about 40 pounds and looks great! She also has told me that she is ready to start dating, but hasn’t been on a date since 1985 and is clueless about what to wear, how to look, and not to mention the world of online dating. I think that this makeover would give her the boost of confidence that she needs and she can finally show off how beautiful she really is, inside and out. It would also let her know how much my siblings & I love her & appreciate all of her hard work, quirks, and uniqueness all while giving her an opportunity to take some new pictures & get her dating profiles up & running 😉 Please choose my wonderful Mom!

Joanne’s day of pampering on May 20th will begin with a personal chauffeur picking her up in a luxurious new Mercedes. She will then be treated to a day of decadence in West Hartford Center starting with a magnificent makeover including hair and makeup at Bluemercury, a personal styling session with Debbie Wright of Project Closet, a shopping spree for fabulous fashions at the stylish BK & CO boutique, and a luscious lunch for two at Noble & company.

– 4th Annual Romantic Ride and Rendezvous” Gives Couple Special Anniversary Celebration-

(HARTFORD, CT)– February 20, 2017– Stephanie Hobbs of West Hartford is not only a busy wife and mother, she’s also the dedicated owner of a barre fitness studio. Her husband Benjamin wanted to express his admiration for Stephanie by nominating her for New Country Motor Cars’ 4th Annual Romantic Ride and Rendezvous Valentine’s Day promotion. Of the more than 50 entries, Benjamin’s heartfelt tribute captured the judges’ hearts and the grand prize.

“As husbands and parents ourselves, we see firsthand the countless ways women care for their families every day. As the father of seven children, I can certainly relate to busy couples who rarely have time to enjoy a romantic date night!” joked Job Pimental, General Manager of New Country BMW.

Benjamin’s winning entry:

My soul mate, Stephanie, and I have been married for almost 9 years. We fortuitously met on a beach in Hawaii in February 2006. She wanted nothing to do with me at the time even though we soon found out we attended the same university in Indiana. I somehow won her over, we dated long distance for a year and miraculously she moved to Connecticut to be with me. We are now the lucky parents to two children we adopted in 2010 and 2013: Annabelle (6) and Tyler (4). The journey to becoming parents was something we could only have done with the support of one another. Stephanie owns a barre studio that opened in November of 2015. She works tirelessly to create an inclusive and fun environment for everyone who walks through the door. She amazes me with her love and compassion for everyone she meets. Stephanie does not have a lot of time for herself as she plays the multiple roles of wife, mother and business owner. Stephanie spends most of her days at her studio in fitness clothes. I work full-time and we just don’t have a lot of opportunities to take a night off, get dressed up and go out as adults. She misses that and I miss being able to do that for her. She amazes me every day with her selflessness and I would love for her to be pampered in this amazing way.

“I heard Scot Haney mention the contest on the morning news and thought it would be a magical way to celebrate our anniversary in March,” said Hobbs. “I am so grateful to be able to give Stephanie this wonderful gift.”

The Hobbs’ were chosen by a prestigious panel of romance experts, including WFSB-Channel 3 Eyewitness News Meteorologist and Better Connecticut Host Scot Haney and Tim Parker, Vice President of New Country Motor Cars.  The winners will receive a beautiful strand of pearls valued at $600 from Becker’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry and a bottle of Ardent Rose perfume from Roses for Autism, then be whisked away by a personal chauffeur in a luxurious new BMW to indulge in a candlelit, gourmet tasting of exquisite French cuisine at a’Vert Brasserie Restaurant in West Hartford Center.

To prepare for the event, the lucky couple will get primped and polished with a haircut and shave at Kennedy’s All American Barber Club for him and a glamorous hair styling at Blo Blow Dry Bar for her, both in Blue Back Square.

New Country MINI Hosting 3rd Annual “STUFF A MINI” Winter Clothing Collection

December 8, 2016

(HARTFORD, CT)- December 8, 2016 Black Friday kicked of the official start of the holiday shopping frenzy, but for families with limited budgets, gifts and even true necessities like winter clothing are a luxury they simply can’t afford. To make the holidays warmer for Hartford children, New Country MINI is sponsoring the 3rd Annual “Stuff the Mini to the Max” winter clothing drive from now through December 22nd.

As a Hartford-based company, New Country MINI is once again partnering with the city’s schools to distribute the donated clothing items to students at the Hartford Public School’s Welcome Center.

Over the next two weeks, a caravan of New Country MINI Coopers will roll into popular shopping destinations and downtown Hartford to accept donations. New and gently used coats, mittens, boots, hats, and blankets for children ranging from pre-K through high school will be collected.

“We started the campaign at our dealership, but we realize it’s not always convenient for people to stop in,” said Sam Herman, Sales Manager for New Country MINI. “We wanted to make it simple to drop off a donation where people are already out shopping, dining and visiting Santa.”

A MINI Cooper vehicle will be parked and open to accept donations on Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th, as well as the following weekend, December 17th-18th at these locations:

  • The Shops at Somerset Square located at 140 Glastonbury Blvd in Glastonbury. The MINI will be parked between Victoria’s Secret and Jos A Bank from 11:00 am to 4 pm on all dates.
  • Cabela’s located at 475 East Hartford Blvd N. in East Hartford during regular store hours.
  • Treva Restaurant located at 980 Farmington Ave. and Avert Brassiere at 35 A LaSalle Rd. have reserved parking spots for MINI Coopers in front of the restaurants from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm both days.
  • Additionally, on Tuesday, December 20th, a MINI will park in front of The Grand on Ann apartments at 201 Ann Uccello Street in Hartford from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.

Clothing and monetary donations will continue to be accepted at the New Country MINI showroom located at 236 Reverend Moody Overpass in Hartford. The program last year netted over 100 donated coats and accessories. The items will then be distributed to students at the Hartford school’s Welcome Center on Friday, December 23rd.

“We are indebted to the kind retailers who are graciously supporting our efforts by giving us space to park the MINI,” adds Herman. “The holidays are truly about sharing and giving and we are excited to share the warmth of the season with children in need.”

“New Country has become an invaluable supporter of our families,” said Marta Bentham, Director of Family Services & Ombudsman of Hartford Public Schools’ Welcome Center.  “With our limited resources and over 80% of our students living in low income households, it is always a blessing to be able to assist the students we serve.”

New Country MINI is Connecticut’s foremost authorized MINI Cooper dealer offering top-notch new and used Mini sales, service, parts and accessories. Visit the brand new showroom at 236 Reverend Moody Overpass, Hartford CT or for more information.
