“STUFF A MINI” WINTER CLOTHING COLLECTIONS AT AREA SHOPPING CENTERS
-NEW COUNTRY ACCEPTING DONATIONS AT SOMERSET SQUARE, CABELA’S AND WH CENTER-
(HARTFORD, CT)- December 8, 2016– Black Friday kicked of the official start of the holiday shopping frenzy, but for families with limited budgets, gifts and even true necessities like winter clothing are a luxury they simply can’t afford. To make the holidays warmer for Hartford children, New Country MINI is sponsoring the 3rd Annual “Stuff the Mini to the Max” winter clothing drive from now through December 22nd.
As a Hartford-based company, New Country MINI is once again partnering with the city’s schools to distribute the donated clothing items to students at the Hartford Public School’s Welcome Center.
Over the next two weeks, a caravan of New Country MINI Coopers will roll into popular shopping destinations and downtown Hartford to accept donations. New and gently used coats, mittens, boots, hats, and blankets for children ranging from pre-K through high school will be collected.
“We started the campaign at our dealership, but we realize it’s not always convenient for people to stop in,” said Sam Herman, Sales Manager for New Country MINI. “We wanted to make it simple to drop off a donation where people are already out shopping, dining and visiting Santa.”
A MINI Cooper vehicle will be parked and open to accept donations on Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th, as well as the following weekend, December 17th-18th at these locations:
Clothing and monetary donations will continue to be accepted at the New Country MINI showroom located at 236 Reverend Moody Overpass in Hartford. The program last year netted over 100 donated coats and accessories. The items will then be distributed to students at the Hartford school’s Welcome Center on Friday, December 23rd.
“We are indebted to the kind retailers who are graciously supporting our efforts by giving us space to park the MINI,” adds Herman. “The holidays are truly about sharing and giving and we are excited to share the warmth of the season with children in need.”
“New Country has become an invaluable supporter of our families,” said Marta Bentham, Director of Family Services & Ombudsman of Hartford Public Schools’ Welcome Center. “With our limited resources and over 80% of our students living in low income households, it is always a blessing to be able to assist the students we serve.”
New Country MINI is Connecticut’s foremost authorized MINI Cooper dealer offering top-notch new and used Mini sales, service, parts and accessories. Visit the brand new showroom at 236 Reverend Moody Overpass, Hartford CT or www.newcountrymini.com for more information.
